What do you get when you mix Sailor Jerry, Fusion Brewery beers and some awesome food from Organic Republic? A recipe for a good time! Josh Bryer and Oscar Nicholson know how to throw a party and raise funds for their upcoming indie sci-fi film, Kindred.
I got on board and am helping them out with coverage of the journey of the film, so I spent the night enjoying a few beers and taking some snaps of the crowd at the fundraiser, and then will be snapping away during the set up and filming of the film later this year. The Vivid Festival, Sydney Australia 2012

Sydney Harbour was transformed for a few weeks with the Vivid Festival 2012. Stunning lighting displays transformed the harbour into a visual wonderland! It took me a few attempts to get down there due to rain and immense crowds, but finally I got there on the last night and the crowds were small and the rain managed to hold off, and I finally got to test my new camera!

The attractions on show were impressive, with a selection of interactive displays, some static and then several motion lighting displays which we were amazing! Hopefully it will make a return next year for its fifth year!

Atelier De Velo - Bike Shop & Cafe, Sydney

A couple of months ago while shooting the Baxter Inn, I discover Atelier De Velo on Clarence Street in Sydney; a very nice looking bike shop that has a little coffee bar up the back. The style of the shop is very modern, open and puts your every day bike shop to shame. They have a good range of bikes, clothes, gear and everything bike, a full work shop that you can see the staff working on the bikes and the guys there are all top guys.

The cafe in the back of the store makes a great coffee, has a selection of tasty treats and also has some good breakfast foods like muesli and organic toast.

The Baxter Inn - Sydney Whiskey Bar

A month or so ago I got in contact with the owners of Shady Pines about their latest bar, The Baxter Inn and approached them to see if I could take some shots of their bar. Finding the bar once the time and date was set was another challange in itself. The bar is located down an alley of Clarence Street, turn right, head down the fire escape and you are there. To the blind eye, you would never know it was there...

The bar itself is great, great tunes, friendly staff, tasteful decor all in a sporting/whiskey bar taste and the main feature of the bar that ever guest spends time staring at, the wall of alcohol, including a huge selection of whiskeys from near and far. No guest lists, no reserved areas so every Tom Dick and Harry is welcome.
