Surfing in Vietnam - Article from Foam Symmetry

Just over a year ago Foam Symmetry published their first issue and I was lucky enough to be a part of the launch issue, a magazine which has gone from being sold at select surf stores to now being sold in newsagencies all around. The magazine is great, its a great mix of surfing and travel, but the look and feel of the magazine is what sets it apart. It prides itself on great design and stunning photography. Issue one was great, but 12 months down the track and the magazine is just getting better and better!

So i finally got around to getting the pdfs of the pages of issue one that i shot an article for. It was luck that mine and Jordy's (the author of the article) paths crossed in Vietnam, as he was supposed to be doing an article but his photographer bailed on him, and lucky we ran into each other.

I wasn't exactly well equipped for surfing photography, no housing, and my longest zoom was 105mm, so i spent a lot of the time chest deep in the sea with my camera wrapped in a plastic bag. In the end though it was great fun and travelling with Jordy was an adventure and we had a ball. Vietnam is a brilliant country and I can not wait to get back there!
